District D Budget Priorities

    On Tues. Aug. 24th @ 6:30p.m. -- Gentilly Baptist Church 5143 Franklin Ave. will be the District "D" meets with the Mayor to speak on budget priorities.  Should be a good meeting as the Mayor brings all of his staff and they will answer all your questions.

NORD Meeting

On Wed. Aug. 25th @ 6:00p.m. -- Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, 1923 St. Roch Ave. will be the District "C" meeting on should we and how to depoliticise the New Orleans RecreationDepartment.  This is an important conversation for the future of our children.  NORD has to work better for our children to get the resources to move their programs to the next level;  let's get involved.  For prep for the meeting go to www.nordcap.org

FSRIA creates new tool to help report blight!

The Journey to HOME OWNERSHIP Starts with the First Step 

                      HOME BUYER TRAINING 

The Churches and FSRIA of the St. Roch neighborhood and all surrounding areas, in support of the partnership with Consumer Credit Counseling Services (CCCS) and First Pilgrims Baptist Church JEDC HDM, are supporting you in this crucial step to becoming a homeowner. Completion of a 12 Hours Homebuyer Education Class is required to be eligible for $65,000 or more of Soft Second Mortgage Funds or other Down Payment Assistance Parish Funds. Soft Second Funds are available and the Jeremiah supported Soft Second Mortgage Program for Orleans Parish for new construction of NORA’s LTT properties will soon be available.  The CCCS Home Buyer Certificate is valid in all Louisiana Parishes.  CCCS also offers Financial Fitness classes. 

                Class Dates:  July 12th, 15th, 19th & 22nd, 2010

                Time:            5:30p.m.  to  8:30p.m.

         For information or to schedule a registration appointment,  call First Pilgrims Housing Ministry's Office         (504) 948-0808;   Tues. - Fri., 10:30a.m. - 3:00p.m.   All applicants must register by July 9, 2010 to be included in this class.

Four Evenings of CCCS Home Buyer Classes will be held at the First Pilgrims Baptist Church School Building Located at 2521 Marais Street

(Just off Franklin Avenue; must Enter from the Parking Lot on Urquhart Street )  Registration is required
